Amanda McClay, CNM, WHNP

Amanda McClay is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to women throughout every stage of life. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Towson University and began her career as a registered nurse, gaining valuable experience caring for patients in both primary and urgent care as well as maternal and newborn health. She later pursued advanced training at Georgetown University, where she earned her Master of Science in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwifery.

Throughout her career, Amanda has cared for women from adolescence through the reproductive years, pregnancy, and menopause. Her clinical experience includes routine and complex gynecologic care, prenatal and obstetric care, early pregnancy ultrasound, and the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of women’s health concerns. She also has specialized experience caring for women with chronic pelvic pain conditions, including endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Amanda believes strongly in treating the whole person – both mind and body – and in creating an environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and actively participating in their healthcare decisions. She takes a collaborative, individualized approach to care, partnering with each patient to develop a treatment plan that reflects her unique needs, goals, lifestyle, and stage of life. Whether helping a young woman navigate her first gynecologic visits, supporting a patient through pregnancy, addressing pelvic health concerns, or helping women manage the changes associated with menopause, Amanda strives to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care with compassion and respect.

Her clinical skills include Nexplanon insertion and removal, IUD insertion and removal, endometrial biopsy, and early obstetric ultrasound. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, the International Pelvic Pain Society, and the North American Menopause Society.

Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys staying active and is an avid sports fan. Most importantly, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two boys.
